High School Chinese Department: Spring Is Coming

In this beautiful late March and early April, Chinese teachers Ms. Lu Hongyun, Ms. Xu Jiangye, and Ms. Zhang Qian organized two activities related to "spring."

On March 29, Ms. Lu led students around campus during the lunch break to explore the beauty of spring in every corner. They discovered tender grass and budding plants, savored the fragrance of tiny flowers, and laughed together as cherry blossom petals fluttered in the air. In the grassy and bird-filled March sky, the most beautiful spring scene could be found on campus.

On April 2, Ms. Xu Jiangye and Ms. Zhang Qian organized a "Hands-on Spring" activity. The teachers prepared balloon materials in advance and patiently taught students how to make a beautiful tulip out of balloons. Tulips represent love, beauty, nobility, sincerity, and purity. Students grouped together and followed the steps to create their own tulips. One student said, "I will display this flower prominently at home to make my home even more beautiful." Another student remarked, "Looking at this beautiful flower, I am inspired to recite a couplet: In the season of spring breeze blowing / Tulips bloom in the garden / They proudly stand tall, stunning and bright / It makes one want to press the pause button on time and forever enjoy this beautiful moment." The entire activity was filled with laughter and joy as the children enjoyed the fun of hands-on creation and admired the beautiful tulips they had made; these lovely tulips will become a splendid sight on campus.
