History and Geography Department: Walking around the Campus to Learn about the School's History

On the afternoon of April 1, after school, teachers from the History Department, students from the History Club, and foreign teachers interested in the school history of the 1940s gathered on campus, ready to join a spring walk of Longhua C. A. C. Campus Tour.

Organized by retired history teacher Mr. Sven Serrano, it has become a tradition for the History Club to dig into the history of Shanghai High School during the period of the Longhua Internment Camp. This semester, under the guidance of Mr. William Ikerd, the students have been exploring and organizing their research, compiling an introductory booklet and a tour map, and preparing to take on the role of tour guides in order to tell the history of the campus to more students and teachers.

The campus tour was a small-scale rehearsal that lasted half an hour. Michelle, the tour guide, prepared a thick script and led the group through the campus, stopping to share interesting historical facts and answer questions from "tourists", which were well-received by the teachers and students. After the tour, the students and teachers did not forget to exchange feedback in order to improve future campus tours. In the near future, the students of the History Club will also launch the online registration service for the tour, so please look forward to news of that soon.
