The 2024 Labor Week Held in Spring
From March 11th to March 15th, Shanghai High School International Division hosted the Labor Week for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. This event provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage in voluntary service within the campus community. Students volunteered in small groups and were assigned various responsibilities.
Some volunteers patrolled near the school stores and teaching buildings to ensure order and encourage classmates to practice proper waste disposal through garbage sorting. Others stood guard at the entrances of Baise Road and Shangzhong Road to verify the identities of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
The cleanliness and organization of the school canteen were also focal points of the volunteers' efforts. Tasks such as clearing tables and arranging chairs were undertaken to alleviate the workload of the canteen staff. Additionally, volunteers in the school library sorted returned books and reminded students to maintain a quiet study environment.
As the saying goes, "Do not underestimate the significance of small deeds, nor overlook acts of kindness for their modesty." Through their participation in these activities, students gained firsthand insight into the routine duties of school staff and appreciated their silent dedication behind the scenes. The experience made students realize that safeguarding the school's cleanliness and beauty should be started with small actions in their immediate surroundings.
Shanghai High School International Division actively encourages students to participate in various community service initiatives. While serving others and the school, the school hopes that students can enhance their comprehensive abilities in all aspects, not only experiencing a sense of achievement but also continuing to embrace the value of diligence and hard work in their daily lives.
