Artificial intelligence experts from Zhejiang University came to SHSID for an exchange visit

Integrating artificial intelligence technology is integral in building a world-class, research-oriented and innovative Chinese flagship school. In order to learn more about meshing AI technology into education, teaching, and management, SHSID had a friendly exchange with the College of Computer Science and Technology of Zhejiang University.

On the afternoon of March 12th, Mr. Wu Fei, Deputy Director of Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study of Zhejiang University and Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Yang Jianbo, Deputy Director of Intelligent Education Research Center of Zhejiang University, Deputy Director Li Junxiang, Joint Innovation Center for Advanced Education in Artificial Intelligence, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Zhejiang University, and Ms. Le Lijing, Shanghai Director of the Zhejiang University Intelligent Education Research Center, visited SHSID for communication and exchange. Mr. Feng Zhigang, Pri$ncipal of Shanghai High School, and Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, along with Professor Mr. Wu Fei had in-depth discussions on artificial intelligence technology in education, teaching, and innovative talent cultivation. Ms. Yao Shenghua, Creative Program Coordinator of SHSID Middle and Primary School, presided over the exchange activities. The meeting took place in the principal's office and concluded with a group photo in the lobby of the administrative building.

Accompanied by representatives from SHSID, the guests from Zhejiang University visited Zhongxing Building and Gongcheng Building to gain a detailed understanding of the laboratory planning, relevant curriculum construction, school advantages, and laboratory management of Shanghai High School. They also first handedly experienced the comprehensive layout of Shanghai High School in engineering and technology education. Afterwards, they toured the campus, during which the guests from Zhejiang University acknowledged the learning atmosphere and beautiful learning environment of Shanghai High School.

Afterwards, in the Zhongxing Building, representatives from Zhejiang University and SHSID held a discussion on the application of artificial intelligence technology in K-12 education. Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, delivered a welcome speech, introducing an overview of SHSID’s AI laboratory, as well as strategies for the development of artificial intelligence subjects and student training under the background of AI, and warmly welcomed the guests. Ms. Yao Shenghua, then chaired the discussion on advanced tech topics, providing detailed plans for the construction of AI laboratories and the development of subjects in SHSID. Mr. Yang Jianbo took AI+ as the introduction, based on the strong technical background support of the AI team of Zhejiang University, carried out a feasibility analysis and prospect on the wide application prospects of AI technology in education. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the development of AI courses and the improvement of teachers' AI literacy, laying a foundation for further cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence education.

Mr. Wu Fei emphasized the necessity of establishing AI laboratories and courses in middle and primary schools. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the construction of AI laboratories and the education of AI subjects. Zhejiang University experts shared their latest research findings and developments in their respective fields and expressed their views on the opportunities and challenges of current AI technology for the development of science and technology education in China, proposing relevant curriculum construction suggestions.

Finally, Mr. Liu Lian summarized the meeting, once again thanking the experts from Zhejiang University for their visit and expressing the school's strong emphasis on the construction of AI subjects. He extended another invitation to the visiting experts and scholars from Zhejiang University, noting that he looked forward to more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the future.
