Puxi Campus G7 : Lantern Festival Activities
After a short period of time apart, our students reunited on campus just in time to celebrate the vibrant Lantern Festival. On the afternoon of February 22nd, our Grade 7 students carried out a series of activities in YD class under the theme of "Setting Goals and Celebrating the Lantern Festival".
In the first YD lesson, several students from each class made a PowerPoint ahead of time and shared their favorite stories from the holidays with their peers. Afterwards, the students were led by their teachers to write down their February goals and wishes. The Grade 7 students – inspired and enthusiastic after the winter break – took time to ponder and reflect on what they would like to achieve in the upcoming months.
The Grade 7 students were also treated to a joyful and lively Lantern Riddle Riddle activity. In their second YD class, the children made brightly coloured lanterns and hung them up high, decorating every corner of the teaching building. Underneath each lantern contained an interesting riddle, waiting to be revealed by curious minds. Everyone worked in groups; some opting to think alone and others communicating with their peers. As the answers were revealed, the corridor filled with cheers of victory and joyful laughter. Afterwards, based on the number of lantern riddles they had guessed correctly, the students could redeem their prizes. These rewards served as recognition of everyone's wisdom and efforts.
In these activities, students gained an in-depth understanding of the traditional customs and cultural connotations of the Lantern Festival, and further experienced the charm of traditional Chinese culture. The Lunar New Year holidays are over and the new semester has begun. May the students embark on the new journey with the fullest spirit and enjoy more excitement!
