Puxi G2 | Young Explorers Dive into International Cultures at Geo Fair
SHSID’s second-grade students turned their classrooms into a global melting pot during the much-anticipated Geo Fair, a dazzling display of cultural exploration. The event saw each classroom transformed into a different country, creating a vibrant tapestry of international experiences.
The culmination of weeks of hard work, the event showcased the diverse cultures of Italy, India, Jamaica, Wales, Egypt, Hungary, New Zealand, and France. Each class presented informative posters detailing their country's culture, economics, landmarks, geography, and history.
In Italy, the aroma of pizza filled the air as students, dressed as Romans, delved into the magnificent sights and history of Italy. Meanwhile, in Wales, the students sampled local delights like Welsh cakes, attempting to grasp a bit of the Welsh language. India brought vibrant colours and traditional dresses, with students even trying their hand at traditional dance. Jamaica's corner echoed with the spirit of Usain Bolt as students immersed themselves in the greenery of the island. Egypt unveiled the mysteries of pyramids and hieroglyphics, while New Zealand showcased Māori culture, complete with temporary tattoos for the young travellers. France dazzled with delicious cheese, bread, the iconic Eiffel Tower, and magnificent artwork. Hungary captivated with the Rubik's cube and introduced students to sweet Hungarian delicacies.
The Geo Fair not only broadened geographical knowledge but also fostered cultural understanding, making learning a truly immersive and delicious experience for these young global explorers.
