Grade 10: PBL Course Showcase

January 4, 2024

During the 2nd and 3rd period in the morning of January 2, 2024, the tenth graders who take PBL (Project-Based Learning) courses gathered at ZTB Lecture Hall for the PBL Showcase. PBL is a course program offered by SHSID to improve students' ability to think and solve problems. Unlike the usual routine of subject teachers teaching and assigning homework, PBL is a course in which students learn, investigate and complete projects under the guidance of their teachers. This semester, the 10th grade PBL program offered more than 20 subjects covering a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, data science, economics, life science, environmental science, modeling, experimental science, and performing arts.

With brief introduction of the showcase by the grade 10 supervisor Ms. Yu, Ms. Chen hosted the showcase. During the showcase, representatives from each PBL course went on the stage to do a presentation about their projects. The presentation included a general introduction to the course, what the students learned from the course throughout the semester, as well as a detailed reflection and even a recommendation on the course. The representatives from every PBL course made excellent and well-prepared presentations, which allowed students in the audience to learn about other PBL courses and some basic knowledge from other disciplines. All the students who attended this showcase gained valuable knowledge and experience.
