Inspire the Inner Self, Decode Personality | Recap of SHSID High School Mental Health Series Activities
As the end of the term approaches, the TA Office's series of psychology-related activities for this semester have concluded on a high note. Throughout the semester, TA Office successfully organized four creative and inspiring psychology-related events, aiming to help students better understand their inner worlds, cope with challenges in their academic journey, and unleash their imagination to discover the beauty in everyday life.
In September, a captivating event titled "Remote Island" unfolded in the lobby of the Zhentao Building. Using painting as a medium, students were guided to explore their inner worlds. Faced with the hypothetical scenario of being stranded on an island, students had to choose three items and a companion. This activity not only tested students' decision-making abilities but also provided a profound exploration of their inner needs. The diverse and insightful choices students made, ranging from prioritizing basic survival needs to longing for entertainment and relaxation, and expressing a desire for emotional companionship, reflected their authentic voices from within.
Right before midterm, a pre-exam psychological workshop was presented in late October. The workshop focused on effective stress management, creating reasonable study plans, and mastering efficient study strategies. These practical suggestions and methods provided robust support to students, helping them perform at their best during exams.
In the realm of personality exploration, the MBTI interpretation workshop at the end of November provided students with a fresh perspective. The workshop detailed the MBTI personality type theory and used case studies to help students better understand their personality traits and improve their interpersonal skills. This had a positive impact on students' self-awareness and social interactions.
As Christmas and New Year approached, a fun and imaginative Winter Treasure Hunt was offered to the students. Students embarked on a quest around the campus to find a series of "treasures," including a withered item, a vibrant-colored object, a warm object, an item with stories, etc. This activity not only honed students' observation and imagination skills but also taught them how to discover beauty and stories in ordinary life. The students' creations were filled with creativity and emotional depth, showcasing their talents and unique perspectives.
The four psychology-related events organized this semester not only provided students with diverse experiences and learning opportunities but also offered support for their comprehensive growth. From exploring inner worlds to coping with academic challenges, interpreting personality traits to discovering the beauty in life, these activities undoubtedly played a positive role in students' development. In the future, the school will continue to provide students with more meaningful activities, supporting their ongoing growth.
