High School Chinese Department: PD Day Workshop Held
On December 27, 2023, all high school Chinese teachers gathered at Xianmian Building to attend a meeting presided by Mr. Zhuang, the head teacher of the High School Chinese Department.
Mr. Zhuang first talked about the changes in the AP curriculum and the potential challenges and coping strategies in the future. He conducted an in-depth analysis on the prospects of the course, emphasized the importance of cultivating students' interest in learning Chinese, and encouraged everyone to incorporate more activities and case studies into teaching.
Next, everyone watched Ms. Shi's demo class together. Ms. Shi used the popular movie "Wandering Earth" as the class material, and combined it with the "home" culture in various literary works throughout history, to lead students to deeply understand the special significance of "home". She linked the plot of the movie with the emotions of the Chinese culture, guiding students to actively think through carefully designed teaching activities.
Finally, Mr. Zhuang summarized the meeting and encouraged everyone to constantly explore and improve, making the Chinese classes more interesting, informative, and meaningful.
