Puxi Campus G7 | English PBA Showcase
Recently, the Grade 7 students from the Puxi Campus had an impressive presentation of the results of the English PBA program. The English S/S+ and H/H+ students organized themselves into groups based on the themes of the novels "Coraline" and "A Christmas Carol" respectively, and performed one of the chapters together. In each group, there were five positions, including leader, writer, PPT presenter, lead actor, and costume helper. After determining their positions through internal discussions, the groups began rehearsals in full swing.
During the two-week preparation phase, each student was fully engaged, working hard to understand the essence of the chapters and finding creative ways to bring the text to life. The writers adapted the original content for stage performance and incorporated theatrical elements to engage the audience while maintaining the integrity of the storyline. To ensure that the performance went smoothly, the PPT preparers also crafted slides to enhance the audience's understanding and enjoyment of the story.
On the afternoon of December 7, the PBA results were presented in the Xianmian Auditorium and the Primary Auditorium. Each group endeavored to present their performance, demonstrating good teamwork and leaving a deep impression on the audience.
After the performance, 7-12 Samuel interviewed a few students and asked them how they felt about the performance form of boys playing female roles. The interviewees said that the performance was fascinating and that the main actors were able to make everyone ignore gender differences, becoming one with the characters through their costumes and props and vivid performances.
In this English PBA program, the students not only improved their independent learning ability, but also had the courage to challenge themselves and make the roles they played come to life. We believe the experience of teamwork and growing together will become precious memories. Let’s look forward to future awe-inspiring performances!
