Puxi Campus Parenting Seminar: Empowering Parenthood, Safeguarding Every Step

On Tuesday evening, 1st to 3rd-grade students at Puxi campus concluded their day of studies, yet the educational building remained vibrant with the spirit of learning. Little did they know, a unique parenting seminar was quietly unfolding in the small theater. Ms. Zhang Yi, Director of SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 1-3, warmly welcomed parents, emphasizing that modern families, predominantly knowledge-oriented, still face various challenges in practical parenting. Teachers in the contemporary era also need to continuously learn and apply new educational philosophies to better support children with diverse personalities. For this reason, the school invited experienced medical professional Dr. Zheng Hong to deliver an engaging parenting and nurturing lecture.

Dr. Zheng Hong, a seasoned professional in the field of parenting, provided practical guidance on a range of common topics during this presentation. These included an overview of the psychological development of primary school students, common conflicts in family upbringing and strategies for handling them, emotional regulation for parents in the context of family education, and how to cultivate a positive parent-child atmosphere through mindful parenting.

Dr. Zheng Hong emphasized the importance of respecting the individual temperament of children. She highlighted the crucial role of parental emotional stability when raising children, as children learn various emotions and ways of expressing them from their parents. Additionally, she discussed how aspects such as a child's sleep patterns and relationships with family members can reflect their psychological state. Dr. Zheng Hong shared personal experiences of the ups and downs in accompanying her daughter's growth, conveying genuine emotions that resonated with the audience.

The entire session was rich in content and closely connected to real-life situations, eliciting smiles and deep contemplation from the audience. Following the presentation, Dr. Zheng patiently addressed questions from parents and teachers, offering personalized advice.

Ms. Miao Xiaoling, Assistant Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, expressed warm appreciation for Dr. Zheng Hong's insightful presentation. In her closing remarks, she emphasized that through continuous learning, parents can become wise caregivers, using both love and wisdom to accompany their children. The collaboration between parents and the school will undoubtedly contribute to better supporting the growth of the children.
