Lin’gang G3: Coping with emotions
Everyone goes through mood swings, and it is human nature to feel happy and sad. How should students manage their emotions in order to embrace the challenges of learning in school life? In the Personal Growth Class on November 28th, the third graders discussed and learned how to accept and express their emotions appropriately.
This PG session focused on three main parts: what are emotions? Why is it important to manage emotions? How to manage emotions effectively? Students discussed and shared their own tips through Scenario Act-out, participating in discussions, and making mood maps. In the Scenario Act-out session, students learned that we have a variety of ways to express our emotions: words, facial expressions, body movements, behaviors and so on. Afterwards, the students had a lively discussion about emotion management in school life. They shared a lot of effective ways to manage their emotions, such as deep breathing, reading books, listening to music, cleaning the room, exercising, talking to teachers or classmates, and so on. Last, students finished their HEART map where they needed to fill in their happy moments, aiming to seek pleasure from little moments in life.
Through this PG class, we hope that students will be able to understand the changes in feelings, manage their personal emotions better, learn effective ways to resist negative external influences, and face all the challenges of learning and life positively.
