SHSID Lin’gang Campus G1-3 |Thanksgiving Food Sharing Activity

November 30, 2023

On the afternoon of November 23rd, the first grade at SHSID Lin'gang Campus held a Thanksgiving Day food sharing activity.

In order to prepare for the Thanksgiving Day feast, every student brought a piece of food from home, including chocolate, cookies, potato chips, cakes, candies, all kinds of fruits, drinks, etc., which were dazzling. The children put the food on top of their cubbies and for a while the classroom seemed to become a colorful food fair. The tables in the classroom were arranged into two long tables with white tablecloths, and the children sat face to face in front of the two rows of tables, with tableware in front of them, waiting for a good food moment to enjoy the food.

At 2 p.m., the food feast officially began, the children first enjoyed the surprise pizza prepared by the teachers, and then had the Thanksgiving Buffet, go to different cubbies to select their favorite food, not long ago a small dinner plate was loaded with full. "I love cheesecake and I want to share this delicious food with my classmates." "I'm happy to have so many different snacks, and I feel even happier when I see other children eating the food I brought." The children enjoyed their food and shared their happy feelings.

Food and movies are great partners, so how can a Thanksgiving feast be complete without a movie? In order to let the children have a deeper understanding of the historical origins and practical significance of Thanksgiving, we played the classic movie Snoopy's Story: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, in which Charlie Brown and his friends spend a Thanksgiving full of thanksgiving and fellowship, sharing food and gratitude. While enjoying the food, the children were able to experience the precious meaning of "sharing" and "thanksgiving" on Thanksgiving Day.

The purpose of this Thanksgiving Day activity is to let the children experience the feelings of "gratitude" and "care" through sharing food, and know how to be thankful to others and to life.
