Grade 12 Assembly: "Young China Story Voice" Sharing
On November 24, senior students Harold, Ken, and Jeffrey shared their experiences in the "Young China Story Voice" competition. The competition allowed students in Shanghai to present aspects of Chinese culture in the format of short videos. Their submission, focusing on 麻辣香锅 (Mala Xiang Guo), showcased the rich diversity and innovative flair inherent in Chinese culinary traditions.
Mala Xiang Guo, known for its unique blend of Sichuan spices and seasonings, aptly represents the bold spirit of Chinese culinary arts and the nation's penchant for spicy flavors. This beloved dish, celebrated for its communal nature, fosters social connection and bonding. The trio’s video, distinguished by its lively and humorous narrative, earned them the top spot in the senior division.
Subsequently, a different senior group took the stage to introduce the Secret Santa project. This festive venture aims to create unforgettable experiences among students through a charity Christmas sale featuring unique decorations alongside a gift exchange. The project encouraged students to select gifts meaningful to their identities within a budget of 50-80 RMB. The presents would then be randomly distributed to other participants in the grade. This activity aims to foster a deeper sense of community and shared holiday spirit.
From exploring Chinese cuisine to kindling the festive warmth of Secret Santa, these projects encapsulated the collaborative spirit and creativity of SHSID seniors. As they prepare to step beyond SHSID's gates, these experiences will be the treasured memories of the final school year.
