Puxi Campus G8 | Math Game

On November 16th，the 8th-grade students and teachers celebrated "Math Game "day. The first activity was a math project sharing. After multiple rounds of selection, six candidate teams participated in the final round..on Xianmian building..This year's theme was both interesting and practical: How Mathematics is Applied in Real Life? The six candidate teams started from specific real-life scenarios, An in-depth analysis of the practical applications of mathematics includes its ability to help us pinpoint the location of earthquakes and analyze disease data.In the presentations from each group, mathematics transformed from abstract symbols and complex formulas into an indispensable tool for solving real-world problems.

The students were immersed in the presentations, enthusiastically applauding and cheering from time to time. At last, the teachers and students judges selected the first， second，and third-place winners.An awards ceremony was held after the competition. At the subsequent award ceremony, the teachers prepared exquisite medals and creative prizes for the winning groups. Ms Wu Wenyi and Ms Yan Jie presented the awards to the Third-place group, while Ms Zheng Wenyin ,head of SHSID Middle School Math Department,presented the awards to the second-place group. Mr. Shen Tianyuan,Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School presented the awards to the first-place group.

The exciting mathematics activities didn't end there. Afterward, the students returned to their classrooms for the Rummikub Game. After the homeroom teacher explained the game rules, the students quickly formed groups, began the competition, and the winning group, moved on to the next round. The students strived for the top and the competition was intense. Each class had a champion who was going to represent their class in the final grade-level competition.

The activities of Math Game developed students' logical thinking ,critical thinking skills ,investigative abilities and expression skills, enhanced their interest in math,,Integrating mathematics into everyday life,allowing them to experience the infinite charm of mathematics.
