Pudong Campus | task taking skills
In the tenth week of enrollment, first graders of Pudong Campus are going to receive their first midterm test. This test is a fresh experience for them. In order to help the children better showcase their abilities in the exam, in this PG class, the teacher introduced three aspects: test preparation, reviewing content, and how to alleviate test anxiety.
Regarding the preparation, children need to bring three sharpened pencils, one ruler, and one eraser to the test.
Regarding the test review, students can fill in any gaps based on the following content:
1. Read the Test Scope
2. Look over Review Packets
3. Old Workbooks and Worksheets
4. Text books
5. Have mom, dad, or friends quiz you.
6. Practice direction words.
Directions are very important in the exam, they can prompt students to take the next step. So students should read the directions carefully, and underline the key words. If confused, read the directions again.
When doing the test, they should:
1. Take your time. It is not a race, use your time wisely.
2. Read each question and answer carefully.
3. Read the whole question/answer.
4. If you do not know an answer, circle the number and go back to it.
5. When you go back, if you still don’t know the answer, make a guess. Don’t spend too much time on each question.
6. Check each answer to make sure you did not skip any questions or pages.
7. Check your test 3 times. Doing each question again.
Finally, the children learned how to relax before tests, and they learned to use self-check sheets to make themselves more organized and confident in welcoming midterm activities!
