Grade 10: Assembly—Duke of Edinburgh Award Sharing
On the morning of October 25, 2023, tenth graders of SHSID gathered in Zhentao lecture hall for the weekly assembly. After several announcements by Ms. Yu and by club promoters, four eleventh graders came to talk about their experience of attending the Duke of Edinburgh Award during the National Holiday. They were applying for the gold award as they had already reached the age of 16. Firstly, they briefly introduced the Duke of Edinburgh Award to the tenth graders and talked about the schedule of each day of their seven-day adventure in Hong Kong. They visited many cultural heritages and natural beauties, which attracted the audience’s attention and allowed them to visualize this exciting journey. Then, the eleventh graders presented what they learned from the adventure, in which they pointed out many important themes that would also benefit them in the future, such as friendship and collaboration. The audience learned a lot about the Duke of Edinburgh Award and its benefits through this introduction, and the Assembly ended in a round of applause.
