High School Math Department: Two Students Achieved AP Calculus BC Full Mark

September 21, 2023

It is reported that there were only 16 students worldwide who earned every point possible in this year's AP Calculus BC exam (which accounts for only 0.01% of the total number of test-takers), and two of them are from SHSID! This news is truly exciting and inspiring!

The two students immediately shared the good news with their teacher, Ms. Ding, for whom they are very grateful. They appreciate Ms. Ding's emphasis on proofs during the teaching process, and her encouragement for them to ask more questions, think more, and maintain curiosity.

The students' gratitude also reflects the teaching philosophy of the High School Math Department. The department has always insisted on putting students at the center, focusing on cultivating students' independent learning ability and innovative spirit. We encourage teachers to introduce various teaching methods such as project-based learning and interdisciplinary exploration, allowing students to master knowledge and skills in practice, and cultivate innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. The teachers in the High School Math Department also have unique styles, and can actively use their own advantages to add more to the regular classroom, often bringing students a more comprehensive and immersive classroom experience. These creative teaching practices not only stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning, but also enable them to learn and apply on a daily basis, laying a solid foundation for their future development.

Once again, congratulations to the two students who achieved top scores in this year's AP exam! The teachers in the High School Math Department will continue to explore each student's love for mathematics and encourage them to pursue it with passion.
