September 11, 2023

As the new academic semester unfurls, diverse extracurricular opportunities await students. In the senior assembly on September 8th, the Live2Drama club elucidated its rich legacy and future endeavors. Since its inception in 2012, this student-led ensemble has consistently captivated audiences, producing an annual musical that became the talk of the town. Their past three productions of Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and Hadestown stand as a testament to their unparalleled prowess.

This year, they are poised to perform the intriguing play Heathers the Musical. To accomplish this grand vision, the club made a passionate call for talents across the spectrum—from performers to the crucial backstage crew, including makeup artists, costume designers, prop designers, lighting technicians, and choreographers—creating a well-equipped team will ensure that the production’s every facet will shine. Finally, the core members performed their wonderful songs in front of the seniors.

Following L2D’s wonderful performance, Elizabeth Xu introduced the crucial roles students can play in debates as Chinese Debate Society members, from understanding and enforcing procedural norms to ensuring the smooth flow of discourse. And especially for freshmen concerned about stepping into unfamiliar territory, the Chinese Debate Society offers meticulous training, ensuring that all members are well-equipped for their roles.

As the assembly ended, the thrill of the new semester coursed through all students. The onset of a new semester is not merely about textbooks—it is an invitation to dive deep into the vast ocean of opportunities that the school presents, urging students to embrace both their academics and extracurriculars with equal fervor.
