Foreign Teachers’ Summer Orientation Summary

The new school year is here! From August 22nd to the 31st, the Foreign Teachers’ Affairs Office of Shanghai High School International Division organized an 8-day training program for foreign teachers for the 2023-2024 academic year. The first two days were dedicated to training new teachers, while the following six days were for all foreign teachers.

At the opening ceremony of the training, Ms. Hu Bo, High School Assistant Principal and Director of SHSID Foreign Teachers’ Affairs Office, delivered a warm speech to welcome the newly joined foreign teachers. She expressed the hope that the teachers would quickly adapt to the teaching rhythm at SHSID and fully showcase their talents on the international stage of the school.

The training covered various topics such as multimedia classroom equipment application, an introduction to the school's curriculum, first aid training and assessment, and discussions on educational teaching methods. During the training, subject group leaders and coordinators held numerous sessions for exchanging and sharing of teaching experiences as well as round-table discussions.

In addition, Mr. Ma Feng, Principal of SHSID High School, reviewed the achievements and developments of SHSID over the past 30 years in four segments. He also discussed the new challenges the school will face in the future. Mr. Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, introduced the diversified curriculum of the school and expressed expectations for all foreign teachers in the new academic year.

This year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of SHSID, and we eagerly anticipate another splendid 30 years of collaboration between Chinese and foreign teachers. Together, we will ignite the flames of hope for students' future paths and let them shine on the international stage.
