Grade 12: Senior Orientation Held

September 5, 2023

On the first day of new semester, all seniors gathered at the Annex Auditorium with an air of anticipation, uniting to participate in the Senior Orientation. The Oath of Integrity Ceremony, an event that signifies the first step on the journey towards higher education began first.

This pivotal occasion was graced by the presence of High School Principal Mr. Ma, who initiated the ceremony with a reminiscence of the remarkable college acceptance results achieved by the Class of 2023. In his address, Principal Ma underscored the abundance of invaluable resources at the students' disposal, including their dedicated homeroom teachers and Personal Growth teachers, the diligent college counselors, the proficient Writing Center teachers, and enlightening college information sessions. He kindly reminded the students of the significance of upholding exceptional academic standards, emphasizing that the pursuit of knowledge remains the ultimate objective of a student's academic journey. Principal Ma also offered words of encouragement, urging students not to despair should their application outcomes fall short of their aspirations. Instead, he encouraged them to persevere and remain steadfast in their pursuit of their dreams, assuring them of future opportunities that will manifest as a result of their dedication.

Following Principal Ma's address, a select group of senior students took center stage to deliver the solemn Oath of Integrity. The air fell silent with anticipation as the entire senior body stood up and pledged the Oath of Integrity in unity.

Subsequent to the pledge, an invited guest, Ms. Rachael, graciously guided the students through the intricacies of using Cialfo for their applications to universities in the United States and the United Kingdom. Her comprehensive instructions covered vital processes and were very helpful.

Post-ceremony, students embarked on a series of enlightening lectures hosted by various prestigious universities. The admissions counselor from different universities highlighted the myriad of opportunities available to future students. Students actively engaged with the counselor as they avidly absorbed information about various esteemed institutions. The interactive session allowed students to inquire about the university's location and diverse course offerings, leaving them more informed and prepared.

Down the hall, admissions officers also provided guidance on writing tasks, including the dos and don'ts of composing a personal statement, and the diverse angles students can use to present themselves in their college essays. This enlightening session imparted valuable knowledge and enhanced students' application strategies.

Beyond lectures, students participated in a myriad of enriching activities including mock admission committees, mock interviews, and one-on-one consultations with their dedicated college counselors. These experiences gave students an essential chance to practice the skills and knowledge essential for the arduous college application process.

In conclusion, this enriching senior orientation has fortified the Class of 2024 with newfound knowledge, confidence, and enthusiasm as they embark on their new semester. Now, they are well-prepared and informed for the challenges and opportunities that await them in the future. Their collective excitement and determination promise a bright and promising year ahead.
