Grade 9: CAS Activity — Mini Sports Fair
On the 24th of May, 9th-grade students participated in an outdoor event where they competed by homeroom in a series of sports activities. The activities encouraged the students to bond more with their classmates and fostered their cooperation and communication skills.
Out of the different activities, tug of war grasped the interest of students the most. While there were some close games, in the end, Class 1 came out on top, dominating every other class along the way, even in the final round.
Class 1 also managed to become champion in ‘Basketball Ice Cream’ (a game where the students had to transport a ball to the other side with only cones and no other body parts) along with Class 10, coincidentally the runner-up in tug of war.
For the ‘Pony Crosses the River’ game (a game where the students had to move to the other side while placing their feet within 2 hula hoops which they could only move with their hands), Classes 5 and 9 tied for first place.
Overall, the mini sports fair was a great collaborative activity for the students to develop their communication and teamwork, as well as a fun activity where the students could release laughter and stress.
