High School Chinese Department: Preparation for MIX Day

Which day is the best day for SHSID students to experience cultural integration? On that day, you can see both traditional Chinese neon dances and Shakespeare's classic plays performend on campus; you can witness a graceful girl wearing a flowing and leisurely long dress, and a young boy waving a feather fan and dressed in Victorian clothing; on this day, you can hear melodious Jiangnan silk and bamboo music, as well as the elegant flute music of the Baroque period; and you can also appreciate witty and eloquent Chinese debates and interesting Japanese and Korean anime dubbing…… This answer is the annual and upcoming MIX Day!

In order to make this annual but innovative festival more attractive, high school Chinese teachers gather their ideas and work together. On May 18, the Chinese teachers gathered at the Zhentao Building to participate in the MIX Day preparation meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Zhuang, the head teacher of the high school Chinese department announced the updated schedule of MIX Day which had been discussed at the previous meeting. This year's Chinese activities consist of 7 major categories and more than 10 sub categories, including Longyin Club performances, Story China speeches, cultural lectures, and cultural experience activities. Each activity is equipped with a corresponding and responsible teacher. Mr. Zhuang emphasized the importance of venue selection, participants, and time planning. After receiving specific tasks, all teachers conducted group discussions.
