Lin’gang G2: Personal Growth Class — Self Awareness
In order to help students positively accept themselves and focus more on their inner values, the G2 students of Lin’gang Campus conducted a dialogue with themselves in the personal growth class on May 17, examining their qualities and character and exploring their values from their daily learning experiences.
“What is self-awareness?” The teachers threw out this question at the beginning of the class. It was surprising to see that at the young age of 7 or 8, they have already been able to talk a little bit about this grand topic. Some mentioned that "self-awareness" means knowing who you are and what you are doing, while others mentioned the relationship between the self and the surroundings... Afterwards, the students painted a self-portrait. They drew a picture of themselves and used words or sentences to write "who I am, what kind of personality traits I have, what I expect myself to be, how I can do my best to make the world a better place" and so on.
In this self-awareness experience, teachers hope that each child can be aware of how special they are and how people are different from each other. When we know who we are, what we are good at, and how we need help, we can also get better with ourselves and be clear about our connection to the world around us.
