Grade 11: Class Activities

April 27, 2023

In the afternoon on April 26, each of the 11th-grade classes held its own unique class activity. The various class activities reflected the unique personalities and interests of each class.

The students of Class 11(1) walked out of the classroom and into the spring season here on campus, taking photos and appreciating the flowers in every corner filled with azaleas, fully immersed in the beautiful scenery of the campus. Later, everyone chose different sports activities, such as playing basketball, football, or running according to their interests, which helped them relax both physically and mentally. The students exclaimed that taking photos and appreciating flowers allowed them to experience the charm of nature.

Class 11(2) collectively decided to watch the movie, The Whale, to relieve some stress and reflect on life. Generous classmates and the homeroom teacher contributed plenty with snacks and drinks to enjoy while watching the movie.

The students of Class 11(3) brought snacks and yoga mats and sat under the sunlight on the grass. They sat in a circle and went around using three words to describe themselves, in order to aid their college application process of self-reflection and de-stressing through therapeutic talking. Students asked questions and shared fond anecdotes to explore their fellow students’ psychology more in-depth. It was a relaxing activity that helped everyone think more about themselves and others, promoting mental health and empathy, and allowing their homeroom to become a supportive and understanding community.

The students of Class 11(4) paired off in groups of two and three. Some formed circles to play trivia games, some quietly listened to music and meditated, while others were engrossed in the art of paper cutting… The students spent a relaxing afternoon in the embrace of nature, recharging their bodies and minds.

Students from Class 11(5) participated in a movie-viewing event, and with the recommendation of the students, the class teacher chose the Indian film 3 Idiots. This film mainly tells the story of the pursuit of scientific truth and the learning philosophy of not focusing solely on grades during university life, in order to help students develop correct learning attitudes and cope with learning pressure in an optimistic way.

Class 11(6) held an enjoyable and unforgettable karaoke event. All students in the class eagerly participated, creating a harmonious and joyful atmosphere. The performances were conducted through a lucky draw system with some students voluntarily taking part. There were solos, group performances, and even a whole-class chorus, which greatly enhanced the class cohesion while having fun. At the end, all 24 students took a group photo together, capturing this memorable moment under the moving melody of "Try Everything".

In the bright spring light, classmates from Class 11(7) sat around the grass in front of the Longmen building and played the game of "Werewolf Killing". “Please close your eyes when it's dark!" "I'm a good person!"... These were just some memorable quotes heard during the game. As the game deepened, the clues became more complex and confusing. “Your logical ability is so strong!" "This is too brain burning!" were also some quotes post-game. During the activity, everyone set aside their books and scores, as well as electronic devices, to fully enjoy the joy and happiness of the moment.

Class 11(8) organized two different activities during their class event. The first game was called "Shoot the Rubber Band for Snacks". By shooting rubber bands, students were able to earn delicious snacks as rewards. This game not only enhanced their hand-eye coordination but also fostered their interaction with each other. The second activity was called "Ghost-Catching". Students were transformed into ghost hunters or escapees and then challenged themselves in this intense and exciting game. Such games provided a temporary escape from academic pressure, and also gave them an opportunity to relax and unwind.

Class 11(9) held a magnificent music concert. While enjoying the music, students also indulged in different snacks and played various tabletop games, creating an atmosphere of pleasure and relaxation.

Class 11(10) students set up tents in the dark room to watch the anime series, Cells at Work BLACK, in a calm and soothing atmosphere. While enjoying the anime, students learned about the functioning of the immune system and understood the impact of stress and unhealthy habits on the body from a biological perspective. The students were inspired through irony and reflection and learned to build good time management and life habits for themselves.

With the goal of building class cohesion, students worked together and enjoyed each other's company throughout the activities. These events also allowed students to relax and take a break from the rigorous academic schedule. By engaging in enjoyable activities, students were able to recharge and focus on their academic goals, feeling refreshed and motivated.
