"Spring Gives Me a Poem” — G6 Non-native Chinese Group

The activity of G6 was divided into four parts. Firstly, "Welcoming Spring", the teachers used classroom lectures and interactive learning to introduce the ancient-style poem and regulated poem that describe spring, guiding them to understand the forms and characteristics of modern poetry as well. Based on this, the students deeply experienced poetic language through recitation and creation, feeling the beauty of spring. Afterwards, all the teachers and students walked out of the classroom to enjoy the season, appreciate the beauty of the campus, and discover their inspiration. Under the guidance of the teachers, the students observed the imagery of flowers, grass, and trees, wrote down their feelings and thoughts, and created a piece of modern poem respectivindependently. Through this process, the students were fully aware that poetry creation requires sensitivity to life and unique thinking, and it can also help develop their language expression and innovation abilities. The followings are the excellent poems.

In the "Chanting Spring" section, everyone recited the classic masterpiece "Ode to the Willow" in unison, expressing their love and admiration for spring. Finally, in the campus covered with green grass, teachers guided students to learn about the traditional culture of “cuju”, and organized everyone to play the game together. This game not only enhanced the students' physical literacy, but also let them understand the charm of traditional culture better.

Qingming Memorial for Loved Ones — G8 Non-native Chinese Group

On the other hand, the eighth-grade students, also in this spring, expressed their feelings and nostalgia for loved ones during the Qingming Festival. They learned many classic poems about the festival. During the class, students listened attentively to the teacher's explanations and exchanged their understanding and insights about the poems. In the poster-making activity, they creatively designed posters with different styles based on the poems, expressing their understanding and respect for the Qingming Festival.

At the same time, senior students studied prose pieces commemorating relatives and created works for recitation. Through reading works by famous writers, they deeply understood the meaning of commemorating loved ones and creatively incorporated personal emotions into their works for recitation.

This activity enabled students to have a deeper understanding of the significance of the Qingming Festival. They drew spiritual nourishment from traditional culture, and also deeply appreciated the warmth and importance of family.
