Puxi G1: Easter Holiday Activities

April 11, 2023

Spring is here, and the campus is full of flowers. The lovely "Little Rabbit" came with its "Easter Egg". In the first week of April, the Grade one classes in the Puxi campus celebrated Easter in different ways, all of which were related to “eggs”!

In Monday’s science class, students reviewed the steps of the design process studied last semester. Using these skills, in groups they had to decide which materials they could use to stop their eggs from breaking when dropped from up high and predict which eggs would survive the group. Some groups were very inventive with their ideas, using leaves, tissue, cotton and many other things. They also had to try and remember the words, like “Humpty Dumpty” at the same time.

In the Social studies class on Friday, some students decorated their own Easter eggs and made Easter baskets. There were some very elaborate designs and brilliant baskets created by the children. They drew the eyes for the egg and colorful cloth. Some even made a lovely pair of rabbit ears for their eggs. Other students got an egg, but they needed to color and beautify the egg with gouache. The children carefully dipped the paint and filled the color blocks. Some even wrote heart-warming words like "For Mom".

A week of Easter events ends with a good meal. The school restaurant prepared delicious bunny biscuits for the children. These fun crafts and activities keep students engaged throughout the week and helped them learn more about the holiday.
