High School "Lunch with the Principal" Activity Held
In the season of cherry blossoms, the annual "lunch with the principal" activity awaited the SHSID high schoolers once again. This time, a random draw on Pi Day found 5 lucky students from each grade to participate. The students who won the 'lottery' were excited, but also took on a responsibility because they were serving as representatives of their whole grade to discuss campus life and learning status with the principal.
From March 21st to March 23rd, three consecutive "lunch with the principal" activities were held. For the first time, different grades were mixed so that students from all grades could share with each other their insights and advice. Peer study is itself also an integral part of campus life.
During lunch, the students spoke freely and gave feedback on their feelings and growth regarding school life; Principal Ma listened patiently and gave sincere answers and encouragement. Students raised their questions on academic planning, their reflections on time management, their suggestions on club policies, their needs regarding mental health education, and so on. Principal Ma, from the different perspectives of school, family, and individual students, gave a full explanation and analysis of the responsibilities as well as possible pressures and gains when dealing with various problems related to growth.
The lunch came to an end amid heated discussions, and the students expressed that they still had more to say. The whole student body looks forward to gathering again in Xianmian Building next year in the spring to have a pleasant conversation with the principal again.
