G6-7: Costume Presentation of the World Fair

March 20, 2023

When you have been to Zhongxing Building recently, maybe you’ll meet some Bishops, Knights, or Zhuge Liang holding a feather fan. Why? Because the 6th and 7th graders are preparing their history project, the World Fair Play. Costumes and props are the first part they need to present in class.

For The World Fair project, students were divided into groups and then wrote a play involving a historically significant event from a specific period, Ancient China for Grade 6 and the Middle Ages for Grade 7. Students discussed with group members to decide which event would be their topic and assigned roles. They also needed to research about the specific details of the historical events and prepare costumes and props for their performance. After two weeks’ work, the students presented their costumes and props and started to perform in history class this week. Some groups made a board to introduce their characters and costumes, while others made props with different kinds of materials. Their creative ideas and abilities are really amazing!

The costume and props presentation are the beginning of the history project, and the students are now busy practicing their plays. In the following days, they will have the first-round presentation in history class and the best ones will go to the final round in YD class on March 23rd. We look forward to the their wonderful performance!
