Grade 7 Assembly: General Education

March 15, 2023

The second semester of 2022 has started for quite a while. On Wednesday morning, classes from 1 to 6 students in grade 7 gathered in the Theater of Zhongxing Building for an assembly meeting. Ms. Wu, vice director of grade 7, summarized the students' performance in the first month of the school year, recognized their duty and further encouraged them to continue the good performance. The score of the duty is an important indicator of the Star Class evaluation.

Then there is the summary of goal setting. Ms.Wu urged each student to not only set personal goals, but also work towards their own goals and strive to achieve them as soon as possible.

After that, due to the recent high incidence of influenza, Ms. Wu also reminded students to pay attention to personal health, drink more water, ventilate, as well as wash hands frequently.

The highlight of this grade assembly lies in the speech given by Eileen from class 7(1). As a middle schooler, there is a decent amount of homework and task that one need to finish every day and it is common for students to procrastinate. She proposed strategies of her own and study theories like the Pomodoro Technique, which breaks her workday into 25-minute focus periods followed by five-minute breaks. This is just one way to improve ones time management, there are many more and it is everyone’s job to figure out which one suits the best. Time management is a crucial skill that helps students on shortening the time they use and promises quality under a high level of concentration.
