Grade 9: Managing a Club Online and Offline

March 7, 2023

On the last day of February, all 9th-grade students gathered in the Lecture Hall of Zhentao Building for an assembly meeting. After some reminders about the next day’s course consultations, teachers invited Angelina from 9(10) to give a speech about club creation and management. Angelina spoke of the difficulties of managing her club, MediShine, including how the pandemic prevented offline activities and limited productiveness, as well as her plans for progressing the club in the future. In accordance with their objective of creating and spreading educational materials for young local school students in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Guizhou, Angelina hopes to visit more local schools to distribute their DIY materials and create more educational videos this semester. She also advises fellow students to try creating a club both because of the meaningful learning experience as well as the joy that comes with it. A lot of students may have wanted to create a club but were scared off by the fear and self-doubt of being unable to run a club. Through Angelina’s speech, however, they all learned more about the management of clubs. Hopefully, the students will overcome their self-doubt and make their ideas come true. The end of her speech was met with a round of applause from the audience.
