Grades 9-10 Course Day: Moving Forward Firmly and Steadily

On the afternoon of March 1, 2023, the SHSID teachers conducted a G9-10 Course Day activity. The 1st session was a course introduction for the students. All the freshmen gathered in the auditorium of Xianmian Building, and sophomores went to Zhentao Building or Nianci Building according to their own interests. Many students took their notebooks out of their schoolbags and were ready to write down the important parts.

SHSID invited teachers from various departments to introduce the courses they teach, and each teacher fully demonstrated the style and uniqueness of their course. The teacher in charge of the drama department, especially, managed to draw a huge round of applause with his passionate and unique speech. After the sharing session, all students had a clearer goal in mind for their course selection. Many questions that the students had been wondering about were answered, and everyone had a better understanding of different course tracks. The presentation was certainly a great help to the students who had had confusion before.

After the lecture, the students had a Q&A session. In different classrooms, teachers of different subjects answered questions from the students. Unlike the previous session, the Q&A session was a one-on-one activity where students could ask the teacher about their situation and the teacher could give suitable advice. At the same time, some details that could not be explained in the lectures could also be given out in these sessions.

At the end of the event, students had answers to most of their questions, but they still needed some time to think carefully, since, after all, this is still a very important choice of their own. The school offers rich course options to the students and students were reminded not to blindly follow the trend of others' course selection, but to consider their own interests and take their future course plans into account. Thus, the full day came to an end.
