Puxi Grade 3: Make the "Taste" of Soil by Yourself

March 3, 2023

The third graders at Puxi campus had a fun study of soil stratification in science class last Friday. What exactly is soil? How does it change? How many layers can it be divided into? What effect does it have on plant growth? The students got the answers for this series of questions from a small experiment.

Oreos, cookies, and Nutella, snacks that make students salivate in life, can actually simulate the composition of soil! Under the guidance of the teacher, the students gained a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences among topsoil, subsoil and bedrock, as well as the magic of soil.

This interesting and “delicious” science experiment not only gave the students a deeper understanding of the concept of soil stratification, but also brought them endless joy of experimentation.
