Winter Math Feast – A Collection of Puxi G1-5 Math Winter Holiday Homework
As if the vernal breeze came back overnight, grass begins to sprout secretly on campus showing the approaching of spring. Puxi G1-5 Students have also brought vitality to campus with their well-designed math projects during winter vacation.
During the winter vacation, the first graders combined national flags in geography with fractions in mathematics and conducted a study on the distribution of colors in the national flags. They first selected four national flags, and then used fractions to represent the proportion of colors in each flag, and then created a new national flag based on the obtained data. Many students drew the most classic striped national flags, and some national flags were symmetrical or radiated from the middle.
The math winter vacation topic for the second grade was to make "My Town". The students made 3D buildings using milk cartons and other three-dimensional geometry materials. Afterwards, they used beautiful wrapping paper to transform their creations and painted regular patterns for decoration, and a series of vibrant towns were completed. The small towns reflect the endless creativity and ingenuity of the students, shows their strong hands-on ability, and carries the big dreams in their hearts. Now, standing in front of the display stand and admiring the distinctive towns has become everyone's favorite recess activity. With these delicate pieces, the hallway becomes even more colorful.
Students in the third grade used their imaginations during the winter vacation and used mathematical concepts to make the "Monopoly" game. The game is equipped with interesting settings such as chance cards and challenge cards. They skilfully used the mathematical knowledge they have learned to create various mathematical problems for players, such as 24 points, fractions, decimals, finding patterns, and application problems. The friends get money by completing math problems together, and use money to buy houses, stocks, etc., and actively manage their own industries. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, students apply knowledge, use their minds, and move towards victory, not to mention how happy it is!
Fourth graders were very busy during the winter holiday. The students first "ran" their ice cream shops. As ‘shop owners’, students were responsible for everything from buying supplies, hiring staff, to making budgets. For all kinds of dessertssold in the shop, ‘shop owners’ have worked out the total amount of cost and expense to make ends meet. After that, the fourth graders planned a family trip for the holiday. Some students planned to go to Orlando which is sunny and enthusiastic. They planned to be immersed in the magic world of Harry Potter Land and to experience a dream trip at Disneyland. Some students planned to visit New York City, where they can walk through Central Park on a sunny day, visit fine art galleries and indulge in delicious food. Some students planned to go to San Francisco, feeling the heart of this romantic city on the West Coast. They planned to eat crab at Fisherman's Wharf, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and walk in Golden Gate Park.
Fifth graders also had a fruitful winter holiday. Students designed their dream amusement parks as architects. They incorporated unique design concepts into the park's logo. Students then calculated the probability of a shot for a balloon game at the amusement park and calculated the time to wait in line for games to optimize them and make adjustments. In preparation for the week-long carnival, students have used a variety of charts to predict the proportion of adults and children who visited the park, the most popular days and times of the day, in the hope that the most popular roller coasters will be accessible to more visitors with reasonable overall arrangement.
Spring comes to campus with lively sounds and mild wind. Wherever she went, it is like a dream, like fog, like weaving, gently bent over the earth with warmth. Students have also taken their holiday work with them and disclosed the curtain of a new chapter for their school life.
