Grade 10: Project-Based Learning Showcase

February 23, 2023

PBL, or project-based learning, was a course designed to help students gain knowledge and skills through extensive investigation and responding to challenging questions. On February 21, the sophomores were provided with the opportunity to both watch and participate in the G10 PBL Showcase, in which a group of students from each PBL course gave a summary of what they had learned over the course of the last semester. Each of the group of students gave a unique presentation on various topics in distinct forms. Some students, whose PBL course was based on sociology, gave their perspectives on global issues such as the harm of electronic products. Students from a film-making PBL course also gave an informative presentation by showcasing their own short films, accompanied by a brief introduction to the history of film-making with conclusions on the list of techniques used in the process of creating their videos.

Through the PBL Showcase, students were able to present their findings from their PBL course, as well as learn about other courses before the course selection. This semester, sophomores are provided with a total of 22 PBL courses to choose from, ranging from Advanced Music Production to Investigation on IYPT problems.
