Grade 7 YD Class: SMART Goal Setting 3
At SHSID, every student aims for success through hard work and numerous extracurricular activities, including instruments, sports, and many forms of art. However, in order to record growth and stimulate personal reflection, goal setting is necessary. From an early age, students at SHSID are taught to create SMART goals, helping them track their progress and discover new ideas in many different areas.
SMART goals are beneficial to both students at SHSID and learners of any age or gender. By setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals, learners will be able to develop in a number of ways, moving them closer to achieving their dreams.
Although SMART goals are mentioned every semester, a different approach was used this time. Instead of directly requesting students to take a shot at making the goals, teachers asked students a series of questions (to be answered honestly). In this way, students can discover their own identities before they create their goals, allowing for more honest and accurate goals to be set. Before, the concept and use of these goals was established, and with the additional activity in YD class today, students were able to find their own hobbies and interests in order to further improve their goal-setting skills. Everyone is full of confidence to start the journey of the new semester!
