Club Highlights: Women's Baseball and Softball Club
The Girl's Baseball and Softball Club was founded in September 2022. As the name suggests, it is a baseball and softball team composed of eleven members who have a strong interest in the sports. The club holds activities every Thursday after school. The activities range and progress from basic to advanced. The difficulty of the activities depends on the progress of members. Club members are committed to teaching and promoting girls’ baseball/softball from both theoretical and practical aspects, and eliminating the public stereotype that the sports are for boys only.
With the idea that members might have zero training before in mind, the Girl's Baseball and Softball Club focused on the most basic skills -- catching and hitting, or striking. First, the group would learn to observe the movement which the leader and coach would demonstrate. Then, through one-on-one movement guidance for each member during practice, the members would learn the correct movement norms that help to avoid injury. In the absence of offline activities, the club held online meetings to systematically introduce the rules and history of baseball/softball, adding a theoretical dimension to the activities.
Girl's Baseball and Softball Club is also planning innovative activities such as intra-team games or other diversified forms. The club advocates learning while having fun, and hopes to spread baseball/softball culture to every corner of the campus.
