Grade 10 CAS Activity: Sophomore Project Showcase

November 29, 2022

On November 23rd, each homeroom chose a representative for this week’s CAS activity to present their freshman project. The whole grade came together in the Xianmian Annex Hall to celebrate these students and their reflections. This year’s sophomore project question was “Who Am I?”, and the presenting students shared their individual processes of finding an answer to that question.

Students considered the different factors of their accomplishments (both academic and personal), their personalities, and their passions to help themselves find who they truly are. Students were given 6 minutes to present a PPT and some of the artifacts for the project. Some of the most notable artifact pieces were games/apps, art pieces, and writing projects that students had all developed. Powerful messages of uniqueness, individuality, and exploration were echoed in all of the speeches. Furthermore, students reflected on the ways that the sophomore project had benefitted them; some of them noted how the sophomore project was a chance to truly discover themselves.

After the twelve presentations, the entire grade was able to vote on the project that they liked the most in four categories: Outstanding Project, Meritorious Project, Honorable Mention, and Successful Participant Project. All the students did an amazing job with the presentations and were able to bring motivation to their peers.
