Lingang G1: “Eggcellent Parent” Project
In the past week, the first grade of SHSID Lingang Campus conducted a five-day "Eggcellent Parent Project", in which the first grade students disguised as egg baby’s parents and spent a week learning to take care of their own babies. The children brought their "egg babies" with them to school and carefully watched over and protected them, truly treating them with as much care as their own lives, and completing the task when the eggs were not broken after five days.
In anticipation of the new arrival, the first graders made a nest for their baby eggs -- a warm and safe home. Each class held an "adoption ceremony" on the day they received their “egg babies”, and the children were overwhelmed with excitement. From that moment on, they were learning about care and responsibility through hands-on experience.
At school, the children took their baby eggs to read books together, eat snacks together and do their homework together. After school, they spent time with their baby eggs, playing puzzles, playing sports, going to the restaurant, and even letting them live in Peppa Pig's house. The children looked after the baby eggs in style! Our “little egg parents” cherished this special egg and fulfilled their responsibility of taking care of the baby eggs in a daily and careful way.
As the week went by, the children completed an "Eggcellent Booklet" to record their feelings about being a little parent this week. Some wrote, "I love that my egg baby always accompanies me when I’m drawing"; some wrote, "I wish Baby Egg could talk to me"; and others wrote, "I have so many fun things to do with Baby Egg! ". The children's words were heartfelt. Little by little, day by day, the children benefited greatly.
