Pudong Campus | Hit the Road of Reading Together!
How time flies! It's already halfway through the school year. After the warm-up activities of Reading Bingo and Reading Feather, the students at SHSID Pudong Campus finally had their long-awaited Book Recommendations on November 7 and November 10!
During this event, both Chinese and foreign teachers of each grade recommended books that were appropriate for the children in their grade. Mr. Ruairi from Grade 1 recommended the Magic Tree House series, while Ms. Zhao recommended a series of books by Disney contracted author Yang Peng. Ms. Gu, second grade teacher, recommended The Different Carmela, The Complete Biography of Little Xiang Gu, and The Children's History Encyclopedia. Ms. Falzon, also in Grade 2, recommended the series Horrible Harry, Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo and Ghosthunters, as well as other picture books, poems, and related books. Ms. Li, teacher of Grade 3, recommended Chinese Characters with Stories and Ms. Wu Tells History Stories, while Mr. Mahoney recommended the Bone series, I Survived, and The Great Brain.
In addition to the teachers' recommendations, two third graders also shared their favorite books. Jasmine from Class 3-1 recommended the Psychology Comics for Primary School Students and Secret Garden, while Florence from Class 3-2 recommended The Childhood Box and Hatchet.
The G4-5 teachers then recommended many good books on traditional Chinese culture, English novels, poetry and more. Let's see if you've read any of them! Fourth grade teacher Mr. Wang recommended The Boy Jiali, The Girl Jiamei, while Mr. Schmidt recommended What happened in Roswell. Mr. Pan in the fifth grade recommended The Dragon and the Subway and Gabai Grandny from Saga, while Mr. Snyder, also in the fifth grade, recommended the thrilling Eragon.
Meanwhile, some students in Grades 4 and 5 also shared their favorite books. Edwin and Emily from Class 4-1 recommended The Red Pyramid and A Shuai, and Lydia from Class 4-2 recommended The Magician's Hat. Book recommendations of Grade 5 went to Adele from Class 5-1 and Andrew from Class 5-2, who recommended The Giver and Out of My Mind.
We hope that every student can find a book they like, learn about the world, discover new kinds of fun, and improve themselves through reading. Let’s hit the road of reading now!
