Grades 11-12: Fire Drill 2022
Safety has always been a top priority. To raise student awareness, fire drills are held to ensure that students know how to react during emergencies. On October 12th, 2022, the students and teachers in the Xianmian Building participated in a fire drill to practise evacuating the building in an orderly manner.
Before the fire drill, homeroom teachers had introduced the objectives of the drill, explained the evacuation routes in the Xianmian Building, and provided advice on issues that may occur during the fire drill. Students learned how to remain calm during a fire, how to avoid accidents during an evacuation, and how to utilize tools during an emergency. Students listened attentively to ensure that they understood the specific points in case of an emergency.
During the fifth period, the emergency alarm went off and smog arose. Students and teachers recalled what they had learned about maintaining safety during times of emergency and responded immediately, evacuating according to the designated routes. After evacuating from the building, students gathered at the designated assembly space to confirm that all students had arrived.
After the confirmation of arrival, students returned to their classrooms to continue having class. Through this drill, the students were able to refamiliarize themselves with the overall approach during an emergency. Students will remember these skills and jointly create a safer learning environment.
