G6 Math Project: Theme Park Tycoon Speech Sharing
The summer heat has receded and a golden breeze is blowing. In the afternoon YD session on 29 September, SHSID Grade 6 students were welcomed to the school auditorium for the Math Project Speech Sharing.
The Math Project Speech Sharing was a three-part event. Firstly, 16 groups of students were selected from the Math classes for the final round of reporting in the auditorium. The students showed their individuality, their courage to question and their ability to think, and showed everyone there their enthusiasm and the depth of their thinking.
After the presentations of 16 groups, all students watched a video of highlights from their previous math classes and reflected on what they had gained from this project.
Presentations were followed by the math game session in which students were actively engaged, learning and having fun.
At the end, the teachers presented the prizes to the students. Group 10 (6-8 Daniel, 6-8 Wilson, 6-8 Ryan), Group 11 (6-7 Oscar & 6-3 Johnson) and Group 12 (6-11 Daniel, 6-8 Leo, 6-1 Caitlin) won the Best Planning Award. The best presentation award was then presented to 5 groups and the best design award was given to 8 other groups.
The Math Speech Sharing came to a close with laughter. During this activity, children were able to see the many different aspects of mathematics and realized that mathematics is not only knowledge from textbooks, but is also relevant to our daily lives. We hope that in the future, students will continue to appreciate the beauty of mathematics in their learning lives!
