Puxi Campus G1: Skittles Experiment

September 21, 2022

In the fourth week of science class, the grade 1 students at Puxi campus did a special science experiment -- the Skittles Experiment.

Science class was filled with excitement and joy as the students performed the Skittles Experiment. The students were introduced to the scientific method and the steps scientists take to perform an experiment. At the start of the experiment, students were asked to form a hypothesis to the question, “Do Skittles melt faster in cold or hot water?” Then the fun started for the students. Cups filled with hot water and cold water were placed on the student’s desks. Students dropped the Skittles into the hot and cold water at the same time to see which one would melt the Skittles fastest. Hot water was the clear winner and caused the Skittles to melt the fastest.

The Skittles experiment is a fun and quick experiment to introduce the scientific method and get students ready for more!
