Grade 12: Senior Orientation
This year, the Senior Orientation took place on September 1. Upon returning to school, Grade 12 students listened to lectures and sessions to gain valuable insights and tips to help them prepare for college applications.
In the morning, homeroom teachers gave lectures on the general process of the college application. There are numerous college info sessions, including the University of California and the University of Hong Kong, to help students learn about these prestigious universities and familiarize them with the application process. In the mock interviews, teachers acted as college admission officers to interview students and give them suggestions on how to improve.
In the afternoon, there were numerous lectures. For example, social manners taught students etiquette lessons and how to act and dress during an interview. Other lectures informed students of the importance of a good interview in the college application process and the variety of resources in school that students can take advantage of in their college applications.
Finally, some graduate students from Princeton gave a talk about life and academics in an Ivy League college, as well as tips on how to get into these colleges. The seniors no doubt learned a significant quantity of valuable information to help them in their college application journey.
