Social Sciences Department: Continuous Deepening of Teachers’ Professional Development
The Social Sciences Department also pays close attention to the professional development of teachers. 5 teachers in the department have joined the 2030 Zhen Tao training program held by the school. They all have had public classes this semester. They learned from each other to improve their teaching skills. In the public classes, the teachers carefully designed a variety of interesting class activities. These included the use of moot court cases to let students understand the relationship between fairness and efficiency, discussing the feasibility of using behavioral economics policies to reduce adolescent obesity, and holding a WTO conference to discuss the multilateral trade issues under the current international situation. Every class was full of critical thinking and the teachers guided students to think actively based on current issues, reflecting the essence of social science disciplines.
In addition, the Social Sciences Department has also established the public account "SHSID Future Youth Leaders", which aims to provide a platform for young students to present their ideas and various activities. They are welcome to share their thoughts and voices on current hot issues. We also collect excellent articles for the "Future Youth Leaders" magazine for regular publication to further enhance influence.
This semester, the Social Sciences Department has brought a wealth of activities to the students and will continue to innovate in the future, aiming to provide a more diverse learning experience to better stimulate interest and enhance student abilities.
