Grade 8: The Answers to “What to Read” and “How to Read”
On March 31th, the highly-anticipated reading sharing was held online as scheduled. In the two sessions of reading workshops, 8th graders redefined the way of reading a book.
In the first session, students roamed in a fantastic literary world and listened to 26 outstanding young lecturers talking about their thoughts and feelings. Great writers, such as Lu Xun, Lao She, were so close to us in their stories. Joanna from 8 (8) told the story of Lu Xun showing her deep understanding and enthusiasm for literature; James from 8 (2) shared his feelings after reading “The Temple of Earth,” which was impressive.
In the second session, students entered meeting rooms with different themes according to their preferences, exchanged exciting stories, shared their thoughts, and experienced the happiness of reading.
After the activity, students gained inspiration about “what to read” and “how to read.” We insist on promoting extensive reading to help students boost their brainpower and encourage students to participate and read books during online learning.
