Grades 9-10: Course Day
On March 2nd, the freshmen and sophomores spent their Wednesday afternoon at the Zhentao Building attending Course Day lectures to learn more about their future class selections. The purpose of Course Day is to better inform students about course selections coming up in their junior and senior years and potentially help them figure out what path they want to go down.
First, the students attended one out of three broad lectures on either the AP, IB, or A-Level courses. In each presentation, different teachers from specific courses came to briefly introduce and talk about the subjects they teach and the content that is included in the curriculum. Students chose which lecture to go to based on what their future course plan will be.
After the broad lecture, the tenth graders were free to go to different classrooms for Q&A sessions with teachers that specialize in teaching different courses. Subject teachers were spread out throughout classrooms on the first and second floors, and students lined up to ask these teachers questions about specific classes.
Overall, Course Day was, once again, a very meaningful event this year as it helped students better prepare for their high school lives.
