Puxi Campus Grade 3: Learn Calligraphy, Practice Good Handwriting

“One Inch, One Punch, One Foot” The third-grade students all sit nicely, and everyone is highly focused. What are they doing? Oh! They are practicing Chinese calligraphy! In the second and third week of this semester’s Chinese presentation class, the third-grade students followed the teacher to write calligraphy with their pens.

The grade 3 students were all looking forward to it, and they prepared their exquisite pens early and could not wait to show their beautiful handwriting. They are also enthusiastic, and their eyes are always keeping on the teacher. They are aware of every stroke and writing tips analyzed by the teacher. They also listen to the teacher’s explanation carefully, not letting go of details. They were all very confident when it was their turn, sitting upright and imitating each stroke very well. Stopping, raising, and closing the stroke, the stroke “Heng” was written by a great calligrapher in repeated practice. Restarting the stroke, documenting and closing the stroke, the stroke “Na” appeared on the paper. Even if some strokes are challenging to write, they can follow the teacher’s demonstration and ponder and practice stroke by stroke. Seeing their confident face, the teachers are also very pleased.

The practice of calligraphy consolidates students’ writing habits and makes students realize the importance of good handwriting and appreciate the artistic beauty of Chinese characters. Students can learn to slow down and focus on one thing in this fast-paced life.
