High School Chinese Department: Story China

In late December, the high school students performed wonderful traditional stories in the Zhentao Lecture Hall. This activity, which was called "Story China", aimed to combine traditional culture, performance, and language art together. Students needed to perform deduction, modern interpretation, or adaptation according to Chinese traditional stories. The preliminary contest is held in each Chinese class, and the winners could participate in the final (a performance).

On the day of the final, the performers dressed up and performed passionately. When the mood was sad, the performers cried; when sad, the performers sang... The audience was so moved and they cheered and laughed together.

"Boya and Ziqi" let the students feel the value of friendship, while "Yanzi Envoy to Chu" let everyone experience the perfect presentation of wisdom and eloquence. "Kong Rong Rang Li" showed the virtues of comity and humility, while "Wo Xin Chang Dan" deduced the story of a king who worked hard and finally achieved a great ambition.

Through this performance, everyone had a new understanding of traditional Chinese culture and virtue. Let's hope that, in the future, students can tell more "China" stories.
