Middle and Primary School Math Department: G8 “Mistakes Analysis Table”— A study Guide for Independent Learners
Since this semester, the school has made great efforts to develop students’ independence. In the past, for the test and exam review, the teachers played a dominant role in preparing review materials for students, sorting out knowledge points, explaining, and summarizing wrong questions. This semester, the Grade 8 math group uses a new review model: the Error analysis table. Through employing tables, the unit knowledge points are listed. Students can review the specific content of learning, suggest paradigms for problems, and summarize the wrong questions by filling in the form. In the process, students will obtain the ability of independent review without help from teachers. Table sorting guides students to review and reflect on what they have learned, as well as easy mistakes and classic questions. Furthermore, a dialectical thinking column has been added to the table to allow students to integrate what they have learned and find similarities in knowledge.
This unique new way of review has been praised by students which not only strengthens students’ self-discipline but also improves their review efficiency and independent learning ability. Students will also be able to organize knowledge more effectively and systematically and actively preparing for each test.
